Vegas Extravaganza: Sports, Casinos, and Foodie Adventure
The first week of July was still in Las Vegas and had fun! One of the standout experiences was attending my first WNBA basketball game at T-Mobile Arena where I watched the Las Vegas Aces take on Kaitlyn Clark and the Indiana Fever. The atmosphere was electric, and it was a ton of fun. Plus, the pristine condition of the arena made the whole experience even better.
Casino Hopping and Winning Streaks
The initial days of July saw me hitting a winning streak at the casinos. I was up over $2500 playing five-card PLO double board bomb and four-card PLO. I stayed the first two nights at the Horseshoe Casino, marking my debut stay at the venue. While the casino area was a bit too smoky for my liking, the convenience it offered for WSOP events was unbeatable. Though I visited the pool, I skipped spending time there as it didn’t quite measure up to others I’ve seen on this trip.
The adventure continued with a night at the Bellagio, thanks to a free night from my Marriott card. The stay was luxurious, but I had to pay the resort fee as I no longer hold MGM Gold status. (I’m working on a workaround for that—stay tuned!) Dining at Hell’s Kitchen was an absolute treat with their famed Beef Wellington and toffee with vanilla ice cream for dessert. I also had the pleasure of catching the Cirque du Soleil “O” show for the second time— it never disappoints!
More Casino Stays and Memorable Fireworks
Moving on, I spent another night at the Rio. Thanks to my Hyatt Discoverist status, I skipped the resort fees and got to enjoy a spectacular fireworks show from my room— a mesmerizing experience indeed. Unfortunately, my luck ran dry during my stay at the Hyatt Place, where I suffered three losing sessions in a row, ending the trip down about $500 in cash games and approximately $1,000 in tournaments.
Back to Florida: Health, Family, and More Adventures
After the highs and lows in Vegas, I returned to Florida to recharge. The rest of the month was all about focusing on my health and spending quality time with my family. I immersed myself in tennis, being a part of a local league, and committed to a ketogenic diet once again.
On July 21st, I participated in another thrilling barber battle. And looking ahead, I’m excited to ramp up my efforts for the second half of the year, aiming to log in more hours than the first six months.
In August, I’ll be heading to South Florida for about a week to participate in some tournaments at the Hard Rock Hollywood.
